Will candy that is covered by resin rot?

my wife wants to make a skittles’ necklace like one she saw at a flea market. she wants to use gummi candies instead. If we incase some candy in resin, will it rot? will it be a long time before it rots? what about dried flowers?

I would think so…well, maybe? what about the scorpions inside those resin paper weights? hmm……I dunno…sorry..
