You’ve answered your own question. The board of governors like to keep the office of commissioner weak, so Bettman is a good choice from their perspective. The owners have the commissioner they deserve.

I pray for a resolution, get RID OF THIS LUNATIC AND BRING BACK THE NHL. I do not watch it anymore it is awful and is now what I like to call the NBA. I like this post:
14 games played last night.
840 minutes (w/o overtime)
156 MINOR PENALTIES LOL
That equals 312 penalty minutes. What a god awful comedy show the NBA I mean NHL has become.
That means without power play goals OR Majors 37% and let me repeat this 37% OF LAST NIGHTS GAMES WAS WATCHING OFFICIALS MAKE CALLS AND EUROPEANS GLIDING AROUND IN CIRCLES. This sport is pathetic and I wish it a good death. Good bye NHL RIP

gary bettmans contract with the nhl is up at the end of the season so i dont think he will be around much longer.

Because fans still go to the game and the teams and owners are making money. If fans stopped going to the game for a year, we might just get rid of that loser.
