why does it cost so much for an std test in the USA?

I mean someone willing to take an hiv test is doing a favor for society to control the spreading of disease. I had look at the site local std testing & called for a test, they said it would cost 400$.
this is rediculous because where Im from there are many free std clinics for the purpose of controlling the spread of disease. it doesnt take much to take a sample of blood so why does it cost so much?
I think people in the USA just ant to make a profit out of people.

I don’t know but if you are truly worried you should give blood at your local blood bank and they will send you all your blood’s info. If you have HIV it will tell you. Also, you’re giving blood so its a win win unless, of course, it comes back positive for HIV.

The high cost of healthcare is not a new topic in the United States. Yes, there are some free or discounted STD testing centers/clinics, but they are not widespread. Try to find a center that is near your zip code with the CDC’s search engine.

because everything in America is overpriced and stupid
but its worth it. be tested and have any partners tested (before engaging in activity).

Many places in the US offer free or low cost STD testing. Check the website hivtest.org to find free testing sites in your area. Just enter your ZIP code.
