> Why are insect pests difficult to control?
Because they reproduce so quickly!

To get rid of the ant infestation, you must kill all the queens in the colony. The problem here is that the queens are typically hidden, so spraying will get the workers without getting the queens. (Argentine ants, fire ants, and a few other invasive ant pests have huge colonies with multiple queens).
There is only one way to kill ants for good – kill the colony. You need to use bait that they eat and bring back to the nest. Once they bring back the bait they will kill the babies and the queen. Do not Spray any pesticide on or near the bait or the will avoid it. It take about 5 days to start seeing them diminish and about 10 days to to be almost completely gone. No 1 rule with ants – let them do the killing for you buy letting them eat poison bait.
