Who do I report my apartment complex and landlord to?
Recently it has come to my attention that my unit is not the only unit in my apartment complex experiencing a rodent and roach infestation. Everyone in my complex has come to the same conclusion – that the rodents have built nest in the buildings’ attics. Standing outside the buildings you can see how the vermin enter – they climb up the palm trees, through the broken siding (which look more window shutters) at the top of the building, scouring through the walls and enter through fist-size holes behind major appliances, like stoves, dishwashers, and water-heaters.
Believe it or not I can deal with the roaches. It’s the various rodents that I can’t handle. I have made multiple requests to have the issues addressed and repaired. Thus far the maintenance team has put down glue traps that only trap the roaches and pest control has baited the common areas with green blocks. Still, the rodents enter our apartment units and the landlord refuses to hire a more experienced professional to remove the nests from the attic spaces or repair the siding.

File a complaint with the city or county Health Department. Request that they come out and inspect the premises.

In an apartment building, the chances of only one unit having roaches/rodents is minuscule. They of course would all have them.
Send your requests for pest control IN WRITING, certified mail so you have proof.
That said, if they are treating the problem, you may have no recourse.
