What would you do if you found yourself working with a slug?

Before you say, informed the supervisor keep in mind this person has been working at this particular hospital for two years. I can not believe she only falls asleep while working with me.
My co-worker sleeps every night on the job. We work the midnight shift! I often hear people complaining about working with lazy people but this is my worst encounter.

Look around for another shift or another department. If you like what you see, ask to be reassigned. It is hard to influence another person to change behaviour. And if you complain about the other person, it will only reflect badly on you – and, worse, she may lose her job.
Good luck.

Two years is not very long. Tell your boss, under the guise of concern for your co-worker. “I’ve noticed Mary can’t seem to keep her eyes open when we work the second shift, and I’m concerned that she may have a health issue which is affecting her ability to work.”
Then you’ve done what you can do – this is why the bosses get paid the big money.

I work at a hospital too. Have for 5 years now. My other family members have worked as professionals in hospitals before me so it is all new in my case. My department has mostly lazy people in it. I am not one. I tend to PUT OUT. I have to make sure my bills are paid for i am still single and have only one income for now. Laziness seems to be the norm where i work. I too have a bad supervisor. You can tell by the people who get hired and who get promoted. They are acquainted with her outside of work and leave much work for the other shifts. It goes round and round like this. Matter of fact her husband works there too because he got laid off from some job somewhere else. He cant hold a job elsewhere. Her interracial relative just got fired because he refused to do any work at all and she let him get away with it. She and her spouse are costing our operation a lot of money because they are lazy at home and at work. She lets the people on our shift get away with doing only half work and has been there for 20 years. I am hoping that her personal experiences with her husband and relatives are tll tale signs and she will not last.

Is his/her responsibilities falling on you?
I wouldn’t get too involved in what someone is doing unless I am stuck with what they should be doing. But believe me, it is being noticed. It is just a matter of time before the *%” hits the fan.
But I agree, request another shift.
