What would be the best combination for parasite removal and prevention?
What would be the best product or combination of products to protect my kitten from infestation/re-infestation from fleas, ticks, mites, and various worms?
I have a 10-week old kitten and she stays in our somewhat-outdoor patio most of the day. She has no contact with other animals.
My local vet recommended things like Frontline, Revolution, and Capstar. Together they seem to do the job (kill adult fleas, prevent eggs from hatching, controls worms, ticks, mites, etc.), but I don’t want to bombard her (or destroy my wallet) with so many preventive measures.
A friend suggested a Heartguard and Frontline combination, which is what she uses for her dogs.
She’s my first non-caged animal companion so I’m extremely nervous.
Sorry, the vet suggested using one or the other, not all three >_<.
The patio is considered indoor, but instead of windows, we just have the screens so it's possible for mosquitoes to get in.

You should use Revolution in combination with Capstar. If you are having a flea problem, use Capstar every couple of days until it is under control. You will see the fleas die and fall off.
Revolution prevents heartworms, fleas, ear-mites and intestinal parasites in cats.
You have to take your cat to the vet at least once a year to purchase Revolution. Use that in combination with Capstar, and your flea issues should be under control. Good luck!

Your vet’s recommending using more than one of those products at the same time??? And on a KITTEN?
Revolution is all you need to kill fleas and prevent fleas, mites, heartworm, roundworm and hookworm. If your cat stays indoors you really don’t have to worry about ticks. Is your “somewhat-outdoor patio” enclosed or not?
