What do you do with a stray cat?

This cat was in our garage when we woke up and then we left for a couple hours and came back and it was still there and it kept meowing so we gave it some milk. Then it still kept meowing so I sat outside and played with it for a while. It wanted to go inside really bad then so I left it alone outside because i wasnt sure what disease it might have or maybe ticks/ fleas because it keeps scratching itself. Now it’s been two hours since I left it alone and its still sitting by the door meowing every time I walk by. It won’t leave, so what do I do? Take it to a vet?

I’m quite a firm believer in fate, and this may be the new best thing that just happened to you.
I very much doubt it carries a disease, all it needs is a nice bath and someone to love it.
In turn, he/she will provide you with companionship and love. Did you know having a pet prolongs our life, decreases and stress, gives us the feeling of never being alone and generally provides us with a better, happier lifestyle?
Welcome this new friend into your life. It may just be the best thing you’ve done in a long while.

Try finding a local no-kill animal shelter. Not the pound or humane society because if something is truly wrong with it, they might euthanize it, and this can be avoided by taking it to a no-kill shelter. Most are run by donations so call them up and ask if you can bring the cat in and give them a small donation to help. But if you can, keep the cat yourself and take it to get medical attention at the vet as soon as possible. Best of luck.

Aww, most cats I know are hostile, and I won’t even go near to a person. Sounds like a really loving cat. If i were you, I would definitely take it in, take care of it, and get it checked up by a vet. Cats are less expensive than dogs with vet visits and check ups.
I used to own a stray bombay cat, so loving, took it in, and this was when I hated cats. I tried scaring it away, didnt do that, didnt even eat my hamsters or guinea pigs. My dogs even like the cat. That cat changed my whole life, so friendly, and when I’m down, I talked to it, played with it. So much fun. Now she did it with another stray cat, and she gave birth to a product of herself, so cute.
Yeah, do it, you and the cat seems compatitable. Cats & dogs choose their rightful owners.

This happened to me a couple of months ago. Except with 2 brother kittens. They were crying on my doorstep in -35C weather, hungry, thin, scared, shaking. Why they chose my house? Who knows? But I truly believe it was fate. They bring so much joy. Life is very precious, and you’ll feel wonderful knowing you were able to save one.
Bring it inside and be its hero.

You do not give much information about the cat, so it is difficult to give you any advice. If you are planning on keeping it I would absolutely take it to a vet. If not, call your local Humane Society or Pet Rescue for cats, and they will come and pick it up. Just for future reference, if you do not want a stray animal hanging around your home NEVER feed it! Where it is fed, is where it will stay. I hope this helped.

This is a regular occurrence at my house and I have had so many cats not my own that I have lost count. Most of them have turned out to be lovely cats and I have neutered them all or passed them on to the Cat Rescue lady and she finds homes for them all. I have recently taken in a stray last year and named him Carson and while hes not mine, I like him loads and hes such a lazy cat and very gentle and hes good for Bemjamin too!! Take a chance on this fella and he may be the best thing to happen to you and plus you wont have vermin around
