What constitutes a “Police State”? Have the “Terrorists” won?
Look at the airports. A prime example is instead of closing the border and stopping people who want to harm the US there, they have total restriction on who and who can’t fly…even to the point of terrorizing the passengers and controlling what they say.
Another point is electronic surveillance WITHOUT any court supervision. What happened to privacy? Isn’t THAT one of the rights that made America great?
What about how people gather to protest? They are totally out of sight and hearing range of the people who they are trying to get through! The government don’t want to be bothered with them, and US citizens who DO protest aren’t dangerous and only want their point known, which is a CONSTITUTIONAL right that the US has.
Lucky, when a person is elected to office, it is their DUTY to know what their constituents are saying. To not know or to silence them is against the first amendment.
The only paranoia being spouted is the governments use of scare tactics.

We are far from a “police state”. To get closer to a police state, vote in Democrats, who will take away private gun ownership, and bring back the “fairness doctrine”.

The government is using Terrorists as an excuse to do what they like. A few corrupt people are taking advantage and making Billions off it. It is amazing how many things they can do wrong and no one care. Bigger government is on its way and more tax payers money will be lost through the system.

If your using the word Terror as a means of placing fear then…Yes they have won.
I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crises. The great point is to bring them the real facts. Abe Lincoln (what a man)
I look at it like this, If a revolution starts, I want the front line! Peace

Every time I hear something like this I have to ask myself where this paranoia originates. It seems to travel like an infection causing more hysteria and less cognitive reasoning. I think you should ask yourself to define what freedom really is. Taking reasonable precautions to ensure airport and transportation security doesn’t take us any closer to a police state and its certain doesn’t rise to the level of a constitutional guaranteed freedom to use public transportation at your whim. The same is true for providing documentation of citizenship for employment and proof of financial responsibility to drive. There are thousands of rules designed to protect the interests of someone other than yourself. They don’t prevent you from doing anything.
If you don’t understand the rules for conducting electronic surveillance you probably shouldn’t comment on them.
As far as protesting is concerned, you may have a right to say what you feel but you don’t have a right to decide if I should hear it.

What you describe is indeed a perfect description of a police state. I don’t think there is a better description of a police state-or indeed, a dictatorship-then a state which harasses peaceful demonstrators who protest against am invasion an occupation, without provocation of another country, which did not pose any threat whatsoever to the invader. And Yes, the terrorists (Al Qaida, the KLA and the others) are winning, unfortunately.
