Should I take his flea and tick collar off?
My puppy is going to meet his 2 cousin’s. [My cousin's dogs] He has a flea and tick collar on, but I am afraid it will harm the other 2 dogs. I know that when dogs play they give little playful mouthing gestures to the other dog. I’m afraid that when they play the other 2 dogs will bite his collar and get it in their mouth. Do you think they would. Should I take it off? He is going to be seeing them tommorrow morning. Should I just go ahead and take it off right now? I know how to carefully store a flea and tick collar so no need to worry about that. THanks to all who help.
After the 5 months is up we are going to start using advantage.

I would take it off so they can play and they won’t get hert.

You should. Besides flea collars do not work other than to keep fleas ofthe dogs neck. They do nothing else for the rest of the body. Try a good topical flea and tick preventative instead.(Frontline, Anvantage/Advantix, Revolution)

you should remove the colar right now. It may not only harm the other dogs dogs but also yours. It’s always good to give your dog a salt wash(meaning, to apply concentrated sat solution all over his body) to remove all the flees in no time, take care that he dosent lick off the salt.

Yes, take it off and leave it off – they’re ineffective.
I always take my dogs collars off when indoors. I’ve seen dogs get a canine caught in another dog’s collar when wrestling. Not pleasant.

I would invest in a good flea medication. It only has to be applied once a month, doesn’t wash off, and works for the whole body. A flea collar only keeps them off the head and only marginally works for that. Just my 2 cents.

i wouldnt let any dogs have any collars on.
my dog almost killed another dog and i still makes me weary, her collar was too loose, a nylon collar and a choke chain wicked loose my dog grabbed both of them, he is a lab and loves to wrestle and grab necks and its all in good fun but this time it turned ugly. He had both collars in his mouth and somehow twisted or turned around and it became stuck on his canine teeth and around his bottom jaw, and remember the other dogs neck too. It was so tight it took might a good few minutes to get those collars unstuck from his teeth the other dog was chocking and trying to pull away it wasnt making it easy.
collars and choke chains can be very dangerous and are only for when a leash is needed. you dog should only be off leash an uncollared if in a safe fenched or indoor environment
