Rash from a sunburn… maybe?
Okay, my family and I went to Myrtle Beach about a month ago (3 weeks, pretty much) and my mother and I got some reaaaaallllly bad sunburn! I mean, we could barely sleep, it hurt so badly and was swollen. Afterwards, we came home and we started the long healing process. I developed some blisters, hardly any, and so did my mother. Well, after a week or so, mine started healing pretty well, but my mother’s was taking forever to heal. We both developed an extreme itch, though they were different.
Mine:
Sunburn peeled, very dry skin, scabbed over, peeled the rest of the way. Only develop an itch in early morning and late at night. During the midpart of the day and evening, I hardly even have to think about it. Now, 3 weeks later, I’ve started to develop raised bumps where I’ve been scratching. This itching is INTENSE and slightly painful in certain areas. Itches worse in the area where I blistered.
Mom’s symptoms:
Took a very long time for her to start peeling. Had a few blisters. Itches intensely all the time, red, pimple-like bumps appeared week 2, has continued on. Soothed with lotions, and tapered a bit with baking soda and vinegar. Comes back intensely. Says it feels akin to being bit by little fire ants.
Does anyone or has anyone experienced this before? If so, what did you do to heal? Is this sun poisoning or some type of allergy? Please respond ASAP, this SUCKSSS!!!
Thanks for answering in advance.

It could be sun poisoning, but most likely it’s just the healing process. When you get a sunburn you are getting a burn just like you’d get if you accidently touched something really hot, it’ll be red, then it’ll blister and the blisters need to dry up so they tend to be very itchy when this is going on.
Oatmeal bath’s can be soothing, but you’d probably be better off going to a doctor to have it checked, since that severe a burn can be dangerous, and they’d be more than happy to give you a prescription cream for the pain and itch

Ouch! I feel so sorry for you! I hope it is better.
You should try Yoghurt. (Im not a scientist) but apparently its the microbe things in it that help sunburn. I’m Scottish and prone to burning and I swear by yoghurt (always use full fat natural). It is cooling and soothing and WILL help! It won’t sting when you put it on, it’ll be uncomfortable as it will be cold but it shouldnt sting. I hope you feel better soon it sounds so sore. I’ve put some yoghurt / sunburn links below that will help in the interim but really you need to see a doctor soon;
