Honestly…

Do you feel like people with twins are blessed, cursed, or neither? I am getting sick of people’s comments! Sometimes I get nice comments but sometimes… oooooohhhh!

Tonight my husband, myself, and our 3 month old went out to eat and then we went to WalMart after dinner to get some groceries and a couple tee shirts for myself, and some ant poison for outside.

Anyway, in the checkout there was a woman behind me with her daughter, son, and grandkids. Well, one of the grandkids was the same age as our twins (who weren’t with us) and the woman made some comment like “Just wait until he is this age. You don’t know what you’re in for!” and my husband said:

“Well, we have twins at home with my dad who are the same age as that cute little guy!”

The woman’s face dropped and she said: “You have twin girls?” and I smiled and said “Yes!” and she rolled her eyes and said she would have killed herself.

Seriously?!

I was pissed. Who says something like that to a woman who has twins and a baby? Seriously? I just thought it was annoying.

So then my husband said that I was a really wonderful mother and well suited to have twins. Ha! Slam!

So seriously… do most people who don’t have twins feel that way? I think that if you love being a mom then you would be great to have twins. It doesn’t take anyone special, you learn as you go. I’m glad that she never had them, though, because I’d feel sorry for her kids. That woman had a crappy attitude!
I think all of you are right on! You made me smile.

They ARE a handful and it’s stressful having 3 kids under 2 but I LOVE LOVE LOVE my life. I could imagine much worse things to be stressed about than having lots of little kids vying for attention!
