Pest control what are they spraying!?

My neighbors have a guy go and spray for roaches etc cause I see him spray around the house.. Well today they had this big van out it said pest management.. Rodents yellow jackets bed bugs etc. And the guy was out back spaying this mini fire hose with a pump so loud sounded like a generator.. I was with my 14 month old toddler wth was he spraying!? I’m afraid to let her play outside now! Any ideas? He was spraying all the grass all up in the trees everywhere..
