My toy chihuahua is just 6 months old, VERY socialized but is a dog park safe?
He has been everywhere, petsmart, tons of near buy little pet stores, hes been in all hardware stores, hes been to obedience and socialization classes, i cannot go anywhere without someone stopping me and wanting to hold him, so he is pretty socialized. since 12 weeks old after his shots he has went everywhere with me, i have never left him home once. he goes to work with me everyday. he has seen so many things and nothing scares him at all, because he has been around it all. hes been to doggy camp every weekend, where about 20 or more puppies and dogs play. hes been to a dog beach, he has done it all. but i have never taken him to a dog park because we have never had one, we had one built just recently and its been open for a few days now. well everyone is going everyday and it is PACKED. i know he is more socialized then most people dogs. he will do just fine in a crowded dog park, but i have heard bad stories about dog parks and how dogs can get all sorts of things like fleas, ticks and diseases, oh and they say lots of dog fights occur. again anywhere a dog is allowed he has been there, hes been to so many dog camps and classes, goes to work me so about 20 different people hold him a day, i could go on and on so again its not him i am worried about, its the park and the people. is it really as bad as some say? cause i would love to take him there but he is a toy chihuahua so hopefully they have a section for small dogs.
YES toy dog. TOY chihuahua. the chihuahua is in the toy group there for is a toy dog. so i have every right in this world to call him a toy chihuahua because truth of the matter is he is a TOY chihuahua.
excuse me but you people do not and are not going to make me not say TOY chihuahua. i have my own free will and that is to say TOY chihuahua in front of chihuahua. this site is to ask and answer questions not to tell people what and what not to say, you people need a life and have some kinda power trip DANG. I dont give a fuck what you people think i WILL and i am always going to say TOY chihuahua now stick that up your ass.

I think in most dog parks the dogs have to be UTD on shots and flea meds and stuff like that. Aggressive dogs aren’t allowed in the park. So your dog should be fine.

Just becareful if there are bigger dogs there that they don’t step on your dog. Sometimes playful dogs can be too rough and hurt your small dog. Vet bills for a small dog are pricey!

Well, there is NO such thing as a TOY Chihuahua, or any other kind of toy dogs. Chi’s come in one size only. Go to AKC.ORG to check it out. What you have is a poorly bred dog bred by an unreputable backyard breeder. Yes, there is a TOY group in AKC, but they are NOT called Toy Chi’s. The only toy dog you can get is one that you get in the toy department of your local department store.
You couldn’t pay me enough to take my dogs to a dog park. Why take the chances of diseases and dog fights?
Mutt Hates, most likely I’ll get a thumbs down, but who gives a hoot.

Considering that there’s only one category with a Chihuahua in it –
there’s absolutely no reason to use TOY in front of the breed.
It’s just stupid.
And no.
Truth of the matter is, he’s a CHIHUAHUA.
Not a TOY.
Unless you got him in the stuffed animal aisle of Walmart.
ETA:
congratulations.
now go get some anger management, a cookie, and a new stuffed toy to go with your current one.
