My laptop has an extreme delay when I type?
Hello. So, this problem has been bugging me for months. And it is delayed as I am typing right now. I have Windows XP, by the way. So when I type, there’s this major delay. Like, the sentence I just typed took so long to appear. I already did that thing where you go to control panel, then keyboard and adjust the rate, but that didn’t do sh!t. It’s really ticking me off. Like really really making me mad. I have no idea what the problem could be. I have scanned my computer for viruses, did a disk cleanup, restarted and shut off my laptop. It still hasn’t done anything. If you could please help me out with this problem, I will be so happy. If you answer I’ll give you 1 thumbs up, too! Please help! Thank you!

try this:
go to start
control panel
keyboard
then there should be something where you can change the delay of your keyboard..

Hey Caylee-
Sorry to hear of your troubles. You probably have too many background programs running at once on your computer. These programs startup automatically when you start windows and the really take away all the computer’s resources. Even simple things like typing can cause issues.
You should run a program built into windows called msconfig and turn off the startup programs. Here is a good resource to tell how to run it: http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_xp.html
