In my basement [where i sleep], my 2 kittens got fleas, which happened from their last home where they were outside, anyway we [me and my family] were wondering if we should use a flea bomb? we gave them a bath yesterday and killed a decent amount of them. But i still see them scratching, so i was wondering what products people would suggest from their own experiences?
[comb?flea powder?bomb?] Thank you very much
btw the kittens are about a month old

How old are they? if they are still really young you want to be carefull, as all flea stuff is poison and if the kittens are only young they are still very vulnerable and the flea stuff can be dangerous.
A bath only kills the fleas that are on the kittens at that time, so they are not so great.
I always use the drops you put in the cats neck (Frontline, but there are other brands). You put the drups on their skin in their neck and it gets absorbed in the cat’s blood. So all fleas that bite them from then on suck in the blood with the poison and die.
I wouldnt really use a flea bomb unless the place is swamped with fleas. A flea bomb does what it says, its a bomb of poison that poisones everything in the room, so they cats will have to stay somewhere else for a day or so, you’d need to wash all of your bedding (incl duvet and mattress) etc. too much hasstle. The neck drups have always worked fine for me. Al the fleas will be gone in a week or so.

Ugh. This is never fun. You need to call your vet. Personally, I hate bombs. They are bad for people, pets and the environment. Your vet can give you Frontline, Advantage or Revolution to put on the kittens, right between the shoulder blades. Only a vet can give you this, what you find at the pet store doesn’t work well. These medicines take a little while to work, but soon the cats will be flea-free. Your basement is another story. Talk to the vet and check out the pet store to see what is available that is most effective and least toxic to everything but fleas. I think there are some options but you should talk to someone at the vet’s office and a salesperson at the pet store first to understand your options and make an informed choice. Whatever you use, make sure everyone is out of the basement during and after using the product.

You should use a flea comb to get as many off as quickly as possible. Flea dips work well, too, but they’re very, very young. Please see your vet ASAP for the best treatment for fleas for the kittens. THEN, for your room, there are flea sprays with egg-stop, or something like that, that will kill the fleas and their eggs, or at least sterilize the adults. A few treatments with that WILL get rid of them if you’re keeping the babies inside so they don’t bring them in again. BUT, be very careful not to let the kittens get into the sprayed areas. That’s poison. Get them treated and de-flea’d, then put them in another (safe) part of the house while you spray the basement. Once you’ve vaccuumed all the surfaces very well after the last treatment, you can let them back into the treated room. But their little systems can’t handle poison, and you shouldn’t be in it much yourself. Just be very careful and follow your vet’s advice. You have precious babies to protect now.
