My kitten has more fleas than I expected?

She’s 12 weeks old. I got her about 2 weeks ago. I saw some on her belly a while ago, but now that I look closer (her face, paws, etc.) they’re EVERYWHERE. It’s like they’re infesting her. Along with this, I found some on my dog today. I also have an indoor rabbit that I’m afraid has fleas or will get them soon. What do I do? Do flea shampoos work? I tried a flea and tick collar but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything at all. Help please!

Get Frontline. It works. It is expensive but so worth it.
I have 2 cat treatments (good on kittens and cats) available for $30 and I’ll pay for shipping to you. Email me if you are interested. 3 treatments cost $64. You can’t buy them individually. I needed 1 treatment. I have the receipt. I bought it within the past month. The expiration date is good.

You need to get them off as soon as possible but with great care. ONLY use a product from the vet such as Frontline or Advantage. There is another one they offer but the name is alluding me.
Anything from the pet shop can outright kill your kitten and collars do not work.
You will also need to treat your home and possibly your lawn. Go through this with your vet.
But if you can, get a flea comb or start hand picking the little basta*ds off now before your little girl becomes anemic from loss of blood.
Good luck, I know how frustrating, time consuming and expensive it can be.
edit: I looked into the answers re: Capstar mentioned below and they were absolutely correct. It was the one I could not recall the name of. Brain fart I guess. Sorry. It is Safe, Fast, Cheap, and can be used with the Frontline or Advantage.

always check with your local vet…they make a new pill now that is called Comfortis, you can only get it from a vet clinic. We have had good responses from clients using it with dogs and cats. its dosed by the animals weight. and by all means NEVER use Hartz products for a regular store.. I’ve seen tooooooo many horror cases with people using it.

FRONTLINE
BUT YOU WILL NEED TO TREAT YOUR HOUSE ASWELL NOW AS THE FLEAS WILL BE IN YOUR CARPETS ETC
DO NOT BOTHER WITH FLEA COLLARS AS THEY DO NOT WORK
YOU NEED TO GET ON TOP OF THIS NOW, DO NOT LEAVE IT ANY LONGER

Hi
First, you will need to get rid of the uninvited guests.
I would get a ”Cap Star” tablet from the vet and a spot on treatment such as ”Advantage” – Take your pets to a confined area and treat her/him.
Make sure to learn the proper way to apply the spot on treatment as so many people do this incorrectly rendering the treatment useless. The “Cap Star” tabs are cheap and work within minutes but are only temporary -you will need the spot on and find out how soon to put in on after you give the tablets.
Check with the vet to see what is safe for your bunny.
Follow the directions precisely. Make sure to clean the confined area after the fleas have died. You will probably need to take your pooch/kitty in for worm treatment too as fleas can give these to your pet.
Next, you will probably need to take some insect foggers
and fumigate your home. Make sure to remove your pooch, kitty, rabbit and plants and any living things from the area before setting them off. * FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS PRECISELY*
Make sure your home is safe for everyone to come back to include washing the eating surfaces such as the counters and dishes and floor.
Vacuum your home thoroughly including the couch chairs and mattresses to pick up dead fleas and eggs. make sure to throw away the dust bag in your vacum outside. Fleas can live inside a vacum after they have been sucked up ( in the hose too).
Stay on top of the monthly spot on treatment for your pooch and kitty or they will come back.

go to the vet, ask if they carry Capstar. Capstar is relatively new, but it WORKS! It is only temporary, but kills ALL FLEAS AND FLEA LARVAE in just a matter of minutes. Then, get Frontline (14 bucks for fronltine, 3 dollars for 1/2 pill capstar). Use the frontline on all your animals (not rabbit), and continue using frontline each month. you could also treat your house and yard because, hate to say it– there are more fleas in your home then there are on your animals. but, frontline and capstar work great…and dont get advantix because it will kill your cat.
