I rented my house in January, a leaky wall was to be fixed before we moved in, actually they pulled the gutter off leaving it in the yard (which now that the snow has went away we discoverd it was all mud no grass, with two dogs ought to be fun) , and just patched the wall, and painted. well snow started to melt that evening becuase we turned the heat up to a normal level for 10 degree weather. So the night we moved in , it was bubbling and paint was peeling. Landlord put salt on roof to fix and said any repairs would need to wait till spring even though i have a palm size hole in my ceiling and paint that has peeled away. Well today all week it has been raining like crazy and i see more drips on other parts of wall. I am worried about mold building up in the wet wall, im sure they will only mask the problem not fix all water damage.

Also once we were all moved in an the 3rd night i made spagetti dinner, and clean all up including dishes, and on top of that just to point out i am a neat freak, and clean the whole place before moving in (even though they said they already did, hate to see thier dirty house, cuz she can;t clean) so go about 2 hours after dinner I walk into the kitchen and drop a pen, i go to pick it up and scream because my foot is in a pile of thousands of ants. Call Landlord , she tells me to buy traps, i tell her traps aren’t going to do for that many ants. She calls exterminator, ants leave for a few weeks. Now they are in my closet ( i keep a scented candle in there for freshness, thats all they could be attracted to). They ended up traveling to my bed. I washed all clothes and linens(Slept in the living room). Lanlord came by to check her keys, and i told her about the return of the ants. She said give her a couple days to pay teh exterminator for the last time and she would call. I Haven’t heard from her since. I got Terro ant baits and they have worked a little, i moved my bed off the closet wall and now can sleep there.

Well my daughter has immense anxiety, and fears of bugs, she has trichotillomania ( hair pulling disorder) and all of this can make it worse. It seems like nothing is right with this house. When there was snow on the ground she couldn’t play in the back because i was afraid she get hurt on the gutter laying across the back yard under the snow.

I guess ultimately what i want to know is can i get out of my lease, some sort of lemon law, or something else. Where can i go for help

We liked the house , but we were under the impression that it was reasonably bug free and the wall was fixed. Also, the nieghbors have told us that there was mold in what would be my daughters room. Any answers are greatly appreciated
