My teenage neighbors made a giant maze out of grains of salt in the the middle of their driveway and they placed dozens of small slugs in the maze. Isn’t that totally wrong?

That sound cool, I would to see what happend. I also would like to feed rice to Gulls.
More funny than cruel, I hate slugs anyway.

No. I wouldn’t consider this animal cruelty. She is not hurting the slugs. When I was young I used to build houses for toads. I would only play with the toads for like 20 minutes, then they were off to hop where ever they pleased. I never hurt the toads, I loved them. I’m sure your neighbor just loves the slugs and wanted to play with them.

I say that is cruel. Slugs probably feel pain and suffering, so if they got out of the maze; they would hurt by the salt. So I say that is plain wrong. Animals shouldn’t suffer for entertainment!!!

slugs aren’t insects…they’re molusks. I think it’s wrong what your neigbors are doing. Everything on earth has a purpose and to be intentionally cruiel to any creature is a crime in my book. What happened to the slugs? They may be slimy and gross, but they’re here for a reason…they wouldn’t be here otherwise.

that is extremely cruel but wouldn’t fall under the catagory of animal cruelty because slugs are an insect and only rely on their senses they cannot actually think. the slugs are drawn to the salt because of the smell of it and then once they touch it, it draws the fluids out of their body and they die of dehydration.

I wouldn’t say it is as much wrong as it is mental. They obviously like seing animals dye and slugs at that…if i were you i would move to the other side of the country. HAHA
