Is pest control in apartment complexes required by law?
I moved into my current apartment almost 9 months ago and it was taken over by a new management company a little over 2 months ago. Before, pest control was monthly and I never had any problems. Since the new management company has taken over, indoor pest control has ceased and I now have what appears to be a roach infestation. Everyone I’ve been telling says they’re pretty sure it’s illegal for them not to have some kind of pest control. I’ve asked several times to have someone come spray and the front office just yesses me to death and nothing gets done. Do I have any legal recourse, at least to get out of this lease early? I can’t live like this.

This depends on the city in which you live. If you are in Arkansas, it is NOT required, nor is it required in Mississippi (except in individual cities). I suggest you contact your city hall and ask them about it.

Only if there is evidence of pests.
The presence of roaches/rats /etc may make the premises legally uninhabitable. This would be a local law. Check with your city or county government.
