Is my son a grandson a sociopath or could it be aspergers?
My grandson is 18 now me and my wife have him from birth. From an early age i could always remember him killing fish and insects he would sit on a wall and crush ants with his fingers with a smirk on his face or he could be ripping the wings off a butterfly he also admitted to drowning mice for fun when he was 15.He is incredibly manipulative and charasmatic when he wants to be but sometimes he withdraws and goes into deep depressions. His eyes have always had a deadness about them they are extremely dark and milky. He hung out with his older cousins who were always older than him in childhood and they bullied him alot.As he got into his teens he start becoming a bully himself he has been expelled from two schools for assaulting people. If he ever got suspended from school he would twist the story and make the person he victimised look like the bad person. He has never bought anyone anything for christmas and never said sorry for what he has done.He always tells me that i have an inferiority complex and im pathetic and that hes gonna be the president some day.He tells me that if he gets into power hes gonna “get back at whoever messed with him”.He is extremely paranoid and is convinced my family is talking about him and sees him as some kind of victim.(He wants to be seen as invincible). He is overly dominant and has to be in control all the time he has no freinds anymore.PLEASE HELP!
Sorry about the title

You have an 18 year old GRANDSON, and can’t use proper English?

I feel so sorry for you. It’s very hard to deal with something like that. I’m not a psychiatrist but I have studied about that sort of thing because it interests me. And he fits the discription perfectly. Don’t confront him about it, it could be dangerous for you. Talk about it with the family and consult a specialized doctor.

Sounds like a nut to me. No offense intended. A lot of it is on you for not doing anything about it.

I see nothing at all in your description that sounds like Asperger’s syndrome. He may be a sociopath though. It sounds a lot like he may have antisocial personality disorder. I think there is a reason to seek a professional diagnosis and treatment, as something is clearly wrong and could be serious.
I’ve attached some links to information about antisocial personality disorder. I hope it helps you see if that is a likely match.
