Is Hartz 3 in 1 home spray safe to use if I follow the instructions correctly?

I’m having a major flea problem, which was caused by my kitten,Zoe, who just recently passed the 12 weeks mark so I can finally treat her more efficiently for fleas. We had a flea collar on her after bathing her in kitten shampoo and flea combing her, but it didn’t work. And now those nasty things have migrated into my bedding and carpet. So we have this Home spray shit that I can use, but I keep reading all these horror stories about Hartz products. But all those were from my observation due to misuse or DIRECT use on the animals. The spray is just for carpets and then you let it dry for a couple hours.

DO NOT USE HARTZ!!! my sister has worked at an animal hospital for 10+ years and she always says dogs and cats are brought in when their owners use Hartz products on them…some even die. Even though it’s just a carpet spray I would probably just stay away from it and use another product just to be safe.

No, you should stay away from Hartz. The problem is not always misuse of failure to follow directions. It’s the main ingredient in Hartz products, called Phenothrin, which is highly toxic to cats. This ingredient is a suspected endocrine disruptor and could be fatal with exposure. So, for your peace of mind, thrash the spray.
