Is BDU/ACU pretreated with repellent/insecticide?

I recently bought some BDU’s at a ranger surplus store, as a costume I am using for a movie project. Since I am filming in a wooded area, I am at risk of being bitten by a tick and contracting some tick-borne disease. I would like to know if military uniforms are pretreated with something like permethrin during the manufacturing process, or if repellents have to be applied by yourself. I have read that some BDU’s are pretreated permethrin applied, but are all like this? What about ACU?
Thanks guys.

if the uniform was bought used it could possibly have insecticide already on it. usually before deployments uniforms are mass treated by unit. My husband has worn all shades from woodland BDU all the way to ACU, all were treated before his deployments.

I have never heard that before in my life…so I would say no, BDUs and ACUs are not pre-treated with repellant. If anything BDUs would, but certainly not ACUs.

BDU/ACU are not pretreated with insect repellent. There is a spray you spray your uniforms with and hang them to dry that treats them and they will be treated for about 5-6 washes, but not forever.

wonder whether the insecticide has bearing on returning vets with ptsd,,a small portion of humans show psychiatric illness after exposure,,,,the super complexity of patented chem company formulae,no matter that small quantities are used in each uniform,,absorption or fumes may mimic naturally human hormones, neurochemicals, whence emanate emotions, fear, rage, depression ,loss,,,,there are doctors who do,,,,,I think janet napolitano ought to bring their expertise to bear on vets with these troubling symptoms, insteada sikking the gumshoes onem

no there is a kit that’s used, if you use the can it last 6 washes, if you use the kit it last 52 washes.
But there is also a far greater chance that your uniforms are counterfeit.
