I have small red bugs in my apartment that look like ticks, but when I looked up info I could find any?
These bugs are red, round, and small with tiny legs. I think some can even be rectangluar; they resemble ticks and like to sit in dark places, but those places don’t neccessarily have to be damp. I rarely spot them out in the open on the walls, my couch, and sometimes my bed! It’s wiered because I don’t let my covers hit the floor. What are they? What should I do to get rid of them?
These bugs do not resemble the typical bed bug and they’re bigger than the size of a mite; they are about the size of ticks. I seldomly see them and don’t think they bite because if they did, then I would have been biten by now, I think, but I’m still not sure. When I tried look up the bug online I did find any pictures on “What’s That Bug?” website or any other website. Although they could be mites, they look more like ticks.

Sounds like “chiggers”, or harvest mites.

maybe they are bedbugs, and if they are, you should get rid of them

Sound like blood sukers! Well thats what we used to call them when we were kids because if you squash one it’s real bloddy! Im not sure it could be the weather though, ask if your neighbours have this same problem. Put down Ant powder everywhere that will kill them and keep everywhere clean and disinfected.

They are guaranteed to be bed bugs! Wash all bedding in HOT water and call pest control before they get too bad.

Grab some, and put them in a jar, then take them to your local Co-operative Extension place, and they will be able to tell you what you have.
They are associated with Universities, and help farmers and people like us, who want to know what this is, or how to grow that, and what to do about this or that…
Exptremely useful and knowledgeable as they read and research all the time!
Look them up in the Yellow Pages. It may be under Farm agriculture or Government (as thier agency is funded by Government Agencies).
I wish you well…
