I had my tubes tied almost 3 years ago, and I want another baby. Options?
I have two children, aged 3 and 12 and I had my tubes tied because I cannot take any form of hormonal birth control, due to the fact that I have a blood clotting disorder. I’ve never had a blood clot, but all of the women on my mother’s side have had DVT’s from taking the Pill. I’ve been tested for this “Leiden Factor” (I think that’s what its called) and I have the gene for this problem, but I have never had a blood clot. My OB/GYN will therefore not give me an Rx for any birth control pill, patch, injection…nothing so I had my tubes tied so that my husband and I didn’t have to have casual sex with each other using condoms (that’s always how it felt) Now, both of my children were unexpected pregnancies and I had them before my biological clock started to tick. Now, its ticking. What are the options for someone who’s had their tubes tied who would like to try to have children again?
Besides adoption. I realize there are plenty of children who need homes but I want to conceive a baby with my husband.
What are the chances of successfully reversing the tubal ligation?
Is IVF an option?
Is there someone with any type of medical background here that can help, rather than people who have no clue?

You don’t have options. You could get a surrogate mother, or you could adopt, but that;s about it.
Sorry, but be happy with your two beautiful children, and spend lots of time with them. (:

If I remember correctly from what my mom told me, can’t you have the operation reversed?

It can be reversed, but most insurance won’t cover it. So if you want it done you better shell out 10-20,000 if not more.

Having your tubes tied is usually irreversible but in a few cases it can be reversed. You might as well talk to your doctor and a surgeon to see if it can be reversed at all as this is probably the simplest course to follow.
Another option for you is IVF. You can have your own eggs taken out, fertilised with your husband’s sperm, and inserted into your womb. This is usually very successful if you’ve managed to carry two previous pregnancies to term and there’s nothing else medical wrong with you or your husband.
Good Luck!

Have your husband knock up some slut he finds down in an alley..pay for her room and baord for 9 months and make a deal with her that you get to keep the baby..yes…the baby might look like her but it will also look like the father..also try fertility treatments…see if the doctor can mix an egg and your husbands sperm inside of you and leave it there..and BAM! a baby is born!

Tubal ligation reversal has varying degrees of success, mostly dependant on how the procedure was originally performed.
IVF is definitely a viable option as the procedure bypasses the need for tubes by taking an egg from your ovary and inserting it fertilised into your uterus.

Hi SSG!! Tubal ligation is def. reversable…but…are you feeling this way because of a “looming” situation? I know I felt like that and really wanted another baby right before deployment. I went a more permanent route with Essure. if you look it up…it’s MORE permanent that just a regular tubal, so I knew there was no way! This is a very emotional time right now. If you really want another baby, your GYN can steer you in the right direction about the reversal or maybe other options like IVF. Good luck sweetie.
