I go through series of body ticks. I know it isn’t tourrettes but i need advice!?
I’m 13 and since i was 4 or 5 i have gone through series of body ticks. Now i nod my head (thats starting to go away),make small noises in the back of my throat, and one that is hard to explains, where when i get a word i see stuck in my head i have to hold my breath and wait to find a beat before i can say it quietly. I know, it’s strange.
I can control it, basically, but it feels physically bad to do it. My body feels tight and compressed and i get very frustrated. My 8 year old cousion does it too, but not as bad as i do. Thankfully, they aren’t too noticable.
I was tested for tourrettes but it was negetive. When i get stressed it get worsed and now it’s bad because i have basically no friends, no one to talk to, i recently found out some things about my family that i didn’t want to know (my parents are divorced.
What can i do to control this?

tics are a way your body signals that your brain chemicals are out of balance. or it could be a mild form of OCD. (don’t be scared of that-it is controllable.) my body tics all the time and i have just gotten used to it. i was prescribed Klonopin for when the tics are too much to handle, but i have found relaxing every muscle in your body is just as effective. practice relaxation and breathing techniques. you can google relaxation guides that are very helpful
I am a dog trainer
