They are here to be food for other animals, like ant eaters lol, beetles, and i here some tribes in Africa eat ants also.
They are for food.

Fire Ants are an invasive species brought to the USA (through Louisiana or Alabama) in the early 1900s. They are part of the ecosystem and organisms eat them as they eat other organisms.
