How the hell is everyone on SSI these days?
It’s crazy lately everyone is talking about SSI and how their on it and then their kids are on it because they are on it. It’s nuts I don’t see nothing wrong with the ones who are receiving these benefits from the government. Seriously they all had jobs before and now out of no where they claim their either stupid or they need meds for anger problems lol. I’m only ranting because I met a single mom the other day who has a son with a serious learning disability , he’s in special classes and can’t seem to remember what he’s learn after a few days and they denied him, but yet my neighbor with 5 kids all receive it because they are out of control bad @ss kids. I’m just ticked ! go ahead and yell at me I don’t care lol. We should be very proud tax payers , not!
captain= that reminds me of a day i had last week at the corner store ,, Some lady doped out of mind cashing a SSI check , she was so drunk and doped up the cashier was counting out the money to her and she’s looking up at the ceiling , until I thuggish looking guy comes and and she leaves with him. She wasn’t even aware of the amount of money she received from the cashier I was like OMG!
p.s I guess it is cheaper then to send them to jail , but maybe jail is where they need to be!

This is the problem with government handouts. Someone who needs help because of something that is out of their control (disability, etc.) is one thing. But an out of control libido and a lazy streak definitely should not qualify.

I know a guy who gets that because he’s an “incurable” alcoholic & drug addict. Maybe it’s cheaper than putting him jail. It’s a crazy world we live in these days.

My wife is in a wheelchair most of the day. The disks in her back are pretty much completely worn away from degenerative arthritis. She can only walk about 50 yards before she has to sit down. The pain she is in is unbearable, and she takes a staggering amount of pain medication, enough in one day to put a normal person in a coma. She keeps getting turned down for SSI. Meanwhile, I have a step brother, whose only affliction as far as I can tell is alcoholism, other than that, he is in better health than I am, who has been on SSI for the last 20 years, for what, I’m uncertain. He’s fathered half a dozen illegitimate children and laughs at the women who bore his children because they can’t go after his $2000 a month SSI check for child support.
I don’t get it.

The program does need fine tuning. I have see sick people struggle for years before they received their first check and well people get theirs in a matter of months.
Doctors are part of the problem they send in their reports.
SSI doctors do the final exams.
Government should hand over programs like this to the states where it could be managed better. And investagated as the insurance companies do when someone claims injury,
And put people in jail who lie to get this assistance.

i agree, the ssi thing is a little out of control. when i was in high school, my mom wanted me to get it for bipolar disorder. she would have kept all of that money for herself. just like she did with the child support. it went toward her new clothes.

I am on disability … I had to work over 70 hours a week pulling pallets and counting the boxes after driving 400 to 500 miles to deliver them in an 18 Wheeler..then because the company refused to remove the snow off the trailer..Ice fell off and hit my neck…
Years ago .. the seventies and before … if a person needed to work there was always a farm to go to..now there gone.. they then had factory’s but they either closed or the workers got hurt from over worked conditions and now you have to speak spanish to work in them..so now there is nothing left..either u get disability or your in jail.. lets c….Jail 40k a year or more…disability..6k to 15k a year.. hmmmm
