You know, those ones that theya re always selling in catalouges. They plug into your wall socket and are suppose to get rid of bugs, rats ect without harming your pets. I want to by some but they dont say how much electricity they will use. I know it might say on the packaging, but thats no help if I have to buy them first to find out. Alos, how well do they work?

They use very little power. At the frequency they operate, one watt would blow you away if you could hear it. It probably uses about a watt. Compare that to a 60 watt bulb.

I’d happily reccomend these. We had three in our house and not a pest in sight, well except for our cat and two dogs, which weren’t bothered in the slightest by the devices. That was until my younger brother decided to do something with the transformers for them. With the devices out of action the pests started moving in almost straight away.
They use a very small amount of power as they really are only small buzzers.

These units will draw about 100 MW or 1/10 of a watt. Maybe they work with the new design, the old ones (20 years ago) were marginal at best.

A very small amount…less than a standard light bulb.
Without regard to the cost of electricity, I will say that my sister has tried them and claims they are the only thing that worked. That being the case, I’d try them even they weren’t energy efficient….as long as it works. I hate rodents.

They draw very little, but someone said something about transformers…so they do not have a transformer system set up..they are “plug and play”..simply plug into the electrical outlet and they go at it..I have no confidence in them though..I had some of these 20 years ago and they did next to nothing..perhaps the newer ones do, but I have had a few tell me they are the same and useless..then I have had some tell me they worked for them..they didn’t for me…I did not live in a totally infested house, but out in the country where you get an occasional rat/mouse from the fields start trying to wander in when winter hits…..At first sound of them in the attic..I placed some decon trays of rat bait right under the sonic pest control block…The rat had a good feast ate most of it..but that cured that problem..and many times afterwards…
