FLEAS!! How to get rid of the little devils?
We have let off flea bomb in the home (the kind you have to add water to which are supposed to be the better kind). It seems to have only made the fleas angry lol *sigh*
I am at my wits end. Our poor dog is covered in them, even though she has several baths with flea shampoo every week and we feed her tablets of brewers yeast, use flea combs, electric lice comb, and sprays.
If you even walk into our modular home (thankfully, we don’t live there!) you leave covered in the beasties.
I’ve been vacuuming and doing laundry to eliminate any hiding places.
What more should I be doing?
ps
Would getting the AC fixed and freezing the home help? We didn’t have a problem with fleas until the AC died. Does a cooler atmosphere help control their numbers or was that just a coincidence?

advantix is the best! one shot and your pet will be free of them. however you may have to get some strong powder or even extermeator to rid the home. sorry.

I second the advatics. We use it and it works great. As for your house…exterminator?

get some diatomaceaus Earth and use it in your house and outside. Along with front line or advantix. This was the only way we got rid of the dang things, and kept them away,

The only flea treatment that’s ever worked on my dogs in the past has been Frontline. I can’t fault the stuff, i’d go out on a limb and say it’s the best on the market.
Years of owning dogs and their fleas!!

Fleabusters makes an awesome powder. I sprinkled it down on the carpet and left it for several days. I went back and vacuumed it all up then did it again. Fleas gone.
I also use one of those lights that attract fleas. They jump at the warmth of the light and stick onto a sticky tray. Works well.

have the dog clipped that would help to get them all out, powder doesn’t work, the flea bomb in a can helped in getting rid of our dogs fleas

We’ve used Frontline for the past 6 years and have never had a flea. We are in a somewhat rural area so I can verify that it works. You’ll have to get the fleas off the dog first or no matter what you do to your home, they’ll be back. Good luck.

This is a bad situation and I can tell you how one family who’s mother was elderly and so badly flea bitten she had to be hospitalized. They were trying everything and were at their wits end.
Here is what worked,
You need to do all of this at once. Set off RAID bug bombs for fleas the kind that work for months after. Make sure all bathroom sink doors are opened make sure there is not laundry they can hide in. Seal up everything all windows but make sure all inside doors are wide open. Set bug bomb up on something so they are elevated. Keep the house sealed shut for the time required do not open early.
Go around the house with a granule lawn and garden type flea killer. If you say it is a trailer home toss some under the foundation area as well. Also around and bushes or sandy places as fleas love these habitats.
As for the dog get Bio Spot flea treatment and follow the directions to apply it to the dog after it has been given a good flea bath.
One thing I noted with my dog is if I give him a bath with flea shampoo I must follow with a second bath with my shampoo. For some reason he breaks out if I mix flea shampoo and topical flea killer. The main thing you want the flea shampoo to do is get all the fleas off of the dog. Once the dog is dry follow the directions and apply Bio spot.
I just use Bio Spot on my dog and we are flea free all year round the neighbors dog has fleas and just had to get worms removed from fleas, so I know the fleas are out there but just not bugging us.
Finally put moth balls inside your vacume cleaner bag, this way when you vacum any fleas that get sucked in will be over come by the fumes. Place a few moth balls in the deep cracks of your furniture like sofa’s and this will drive them out where the Raid will kill them.
