Fallout 3 Hotel Room?

I just saved the kid from the fire ants and gave him to his aunt in Rivet City, and then I got a hotel room from Vera. How long is the hotel room mine, can i keep it throughout the whole game because i want to keep some items in there.

if you can keep getting into the room w/o paying i would say that its yours but i did that quest and sent him to vera as well and never got anything like that. at least i dont think i did…
