Can my dog get intoxicated by a Scalibor anti flea-tick-sandfly collar?
He needs to wear it if he doesn’t want to get diseases in the subtropical climate he’s living in right now, and since his skin didn’t seam to be absorbing Bayer’s Advantix, I opted for the Scalibor collar. He didn’t get any allergies and he was worn it for 4 months now…is there a chance that it could make him ill? During the past week he has thrown up bile 3 times, but the vet said it’s nothing to worry about. I’m not sure if I should trust the vet, though. Other than that he seems fine…but do these products pose a threat either in the short term or long term?

Anytime you introduce harsh chemicals like the ones used to kill fleas onto a dog’s body you run the chances of making the dog ill.
I had a dog almost die from a horrible reaction to Frontline Plus so I now use a home made spray for not only my dogs but for my goats too. I take sliced lemon and boil it for about 10 minutes then take the water and put it in a spray bottle. I spray them all once a week during the flea season.
I also mix an approriate amount of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar into their food on a weekly basis and it levels out the acidity in their body’s. Fleas for some reason don’t want to bite an animal with level acidity.
These remedy’s aren’t for everyone but I’ve found that after 8 years of living in the woods on my farm my animals have only gotten fleas once and that was before I started using these remedy’s.
