Can i give a bath to my baby Welsh Corgie?
Can i bathe my puppy Welsh Corgies? they have fleas, as does the mother. They are old enough to eat dry dog food but will still sometimes feed from their mom. Is their a special shampoo i should use? I need to know so i can bathe them tomorrow and try to get ris of the fleas because teh fleas are eating at them and making there skin scabby and such. We have to take them to the vet in a week so dont suggest that because it will be done to get there nails clipped, shots, and flea collars. But i want to know if i can bathe them before hand? No mean answers!
thanks!!! =D
I have no idea why the mom wasnt treated.. I recused them today thank you very much!… the lady who i took them from had them all jsut sitting in a basket in the hot sun and i said i would take them off her hands. I just got them today and the mom had a flea collar already. i just went to walmart and bought some flea shampoo for puppies and im getting ready to bath them now.. i hope it will help and if not they kinda stink and need a bath anyway.
Its alot worse then i thought… they are COVERD in fleas. you move their fur and about 4 or 5 will crawl up from the place you touched. they are in their ears and crawling all over them. I took the bed out that they slept in before the baths. And after there was no affect AT ALL. the Gigi is still itching and her pups ( Joey and John ) are coverd still. and they JUST got out of the tub. What should i do? the vet isnt open this late and we dont have much money!!

I have had four puppies and I have bathed them all before they were old enough to eat dry dog food. It’s best to get a shampoo for a puppy. I’m not sure if it really matters or not though. They have flea shampoos for puppies in some places so that might work best.

I’d say you can. make sure the shampoo is able to be used on puppies. Good luck with the fleas. Put frontline on the mom btw. It helps alot

I’m sorry that you will most likely consider people concern and well-meaning, knowledgeable answers to your question mean.
Flea Shampoos are ineffective and can be dangerous for your puppies especially a brand like Hartz. Also fela collars are also ineffective why waste your money. The fleas only die in the ara of the collar not on the entire dog.
Why is the mother not on a proper prescribed flea treatment such as Frontline or Advantage? Especially considering she was a whelping mother?

Go to the petstore and buy a flea comb. And yes why wasn’t mom being treated for fleas BEFORE she had her pups?
At this age the are still to young for flea dips/shampoos. I suggest calling your vet and asking what to do in the meantime.
