BROWN RECLUSE IN MY HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
So stupid me I leave the door open while I go hunting for something in my car, little did I know that brown recluse spiders love light! Great, now I have left an open doorway for thousands of pesky little insects and the creatures that eat them. So, I walk in I see a huge brown spider and stomp on it and you can bet the barn there is thousands more in my house. I am also a slob so I pick up my pajama pants and right next to my little ducky’s on my flannel pants is a giant recluse spider! I probably have thousands! How do I get rid of these guys! I am arachnophobia. Well, not really but they scare me to death. My exterminator has old me millions of times there is nothing he can do about it but he says that about everything ants, mosquitoes, any bug you can name! I don’t pay the bills in my family so I have no control over are exterminator so don’t tell me to get a new guy. How can I get rid of them myself?
I looked up a wolf spider and I screamed I am pretty sure they only live up north I live in FL

actually recluses hate light. they are nocturnal mainly. maybe its a wolf spider, those things are freakin huge and come out during the day.
anyway regardless of what it is you are just going to have to squish them.
if it really is a recluse dont let it bite you or you will need to go to the hospital. if its a wolf spider, meh not so much. they arent nearly as aggressive, buggers have some fangs on em tho so it will still hurt.
edit: forgot to add – if it is recluses and you are finding lots maybe it was a nest or something. be very careful. check your shoes, clothing, bedding, pillows, anything they can hide in before using them.
I hope this can be helpful.

wolf spiders are found all over the country, the only part of Florida you might find a recluse is western panhandle
ummm Mustanger… though boric acid is considered low toxic, it still is many more times toxic than anything you will buy over the counter or have put down by an exterminator…3-5 grams can be lethal to a toddler..I have nothing close to that toxic that I use for my quarterly services

Not only does the brown recluse not like light but they are a relatively small spider. The way to really identify them is the design on their back which looks sort of like a fiddle. I gave up on exterminators years ago as most of the companies hire idiots. Best bet is to get some boric acid powder which can be found in the insecticide aisle of most super markets under names such as Roach Pruf or Roach Away or something similar. It’s non toxic (unlike the poisons exterminators use) and works well against all crawling insects and spiders. Just dust it around entrances, window ledges, corners, behind appliances and in the backs of cabinets.
Been using it for years, my house is crawler free and Texas has as many bugs and spiders as any place.
