Atheists, Do Atheists know that there are Christian lawyers that would help you with your divorce?
I received a Christian phone book today. I mention it here in another YARS question of mine:

Would this help you become Christian? What about Christian pest control or Christian restaurants?
I am not a Christian by a long shot but I might in my very very old age consider using one of these Christian dentists for some Christian-Style cosmetic dentistry.
IDK, I actually hope I don’t need it.

Why would a Christian lawyer promote divorce. That is part of the irony I thought for sure you would see.

Sounds like where I live. Businesses have no qualms about catering to christians, I just wonder if the same businesses are Equal Opportunity Employers.

ADDED: I’ll just give you my own personal opinion on this. First of all, no attorney PROMOTES divorce. When someone calls me, they have already made the decision. When the person is a Christian, it is a terribly painful one for them. Why shouldn’t they have an understanding lawyer? ALSO–Most states (not all) have no-fault divorce laws. This means that a party who does not want the divorce has NO choice in the matter. I help those people, too. At the end of the day, however, I am making an honest living using the abilities that God has allowed me to have.

My local area also has a christian business directory. I read it regularly and refuse to patronize businesses and services listed in it. I was sad to find one of my favorite local eateries listed in it recently, and will no longer eat there.
I think religion is utter and complete nonsense and refuse to support it in any way. I certainly don’t want 10% of the bill for my meal going to support some local christian church.
EDIT – By the way, I’m not joking – our area DOES have a christian business directory.

When I need a doctor , a dentist , or lawyer , I don’t care what his religion is . Most of my doctors are from India . I have no idea , at all whether they practice Hinduism or if they converted to some other religion .
I want my doctors to really know medicine . I have no interest in which church they go to , or if they don’t go to any .
I’m sorry , I can’t comment on your Christian-style dentistry . I have no idea at all of what that means .

If I get a Christian lawyer, he better be old school. I want him to break out the parts of the bible that say a man must stone a woman to death if she commits adultery or fornicates. Then, if she gets the dishes and no stoning, she’ll consider herself way lucky.
If a plumber came and got my leaks to stop by praying in the doorway, I would give it all more thought.
Ironically, this is true, my sister lives in the bible belt and her company hired a construction/remodeling company to redo some office buildings that made a point of saying how Christan they are. They stole everything that wasn’t nailed down, and a few things that were (since they had tools). She won’t hire an overt Christian now.

I would hire a Lawyer, a Dentist, a Pest Control Person if they did the job. ( But a Christian One? MMMM I would have to think about that one.
I always Understand that One Does not Get divorced , if
one is Christian? Does One? ( doen’t it say Until Death Do Us Part?
Cosmetic Denistry is Ok.. ALL need denistry at times. But capping teeth for cosmetic puposes. I don’t know

Sad part is, Christian divorce is about the same level as secular divorce. Of course I know what the reason is for this, but most people overlook it.
First of all, only 25% of Christians actually read their Bible.
How can you call yourself a Christian when you don’t even read the words of Jesus.
Second, many people who call themselves Christians are really what we would call practicing Christians. They may have went to Church or was brought up in it, but don’t really have a relationship with Christ.
Third, families don’t pray together anymore like they used to. While the average divorce rate is probably around 1 out of 2, do you know what the divorce rate for couples who pray at least 5 minutes a day together is? About one in a thousand.
