US B-52 in Nuclear Cargo Blunder
The missiles were mounted on the wings of a B-52 bomber
The US Air Force has launched an investigation after a B-52 bomber flew across the US last week mistakenly loaded with nuclear-armed missiles.
It follows reports in the Army Times that five missiles were unaccounted for during the three-hour flight from North Dakota to Louisiana.
The air force said “the cruise missiles were safe at all times.” (Don’t you always trust what the Pentagon says?)
Army Times said the missiles were to be decommissioned but were mistakenly mounted on the bomber’s wings.
The W80-1 warhead has a yield of five to 150 kilotons, the paper said.
The flight took place on 30 August, from the Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota to the Barksdale Air Force Base, near Bossier City, in Louisiana.

the patriot act scares me, because it’s eroding the freedoms our forefathers fought so hard for. i still can’t figure out why most conservatives are not upset about it.

Ok I did have to laugh at the safe secure under military control at all times. Sort of like Iraq is under military control. No I dont feel safer.

I feel safe because, I never have depended on the U.S. government to do ANYTHING for me. My father (WW2 guy) said the only function our government does successfully is to take care of themselves.
He used to tell me that if anything ever went wrong (this was way before the WTC was hit) that the president and v/p would take great care of themselves and declare marshal law on the citizens.
Dad was right. My son lived 12 blocks away from the WTC, when it was hit and the area was declared a police state. Not needed his license (he can’t afford a car in NYC) he was without his “papers” and forbidden to go home. He had to sleep behind the bar he worked at for three days and was not given any update by any of the officers. Most of the kids in the lower east side thought the world had come to an end…. and our government centurions wouldn’t give him “the time of day”.
For this manhandling, we pay taxes. I say screw ‘em. There only nice to us when they want our money.

Beats sending them by AmTrak given their safety records.
As to the Patriot Act and our forefathers, war to them was a long drawn out process. Never did they dream that someone with a backpack weapon could kill everyone in a city – or that an air burst weapon could render the land unusable for 100′s of years.
When it comes to military issues it was a different time. When it comes to government and taxation they were dead nuts on.

d@wn, that’s an important part of the difference between traditional conservatives and neoconservatives. Traditional conservatives want to maintain the status quo. Neoconservatives want to repeal the Bill of Rights and take us back to a pre-1776-style monarchy.
Before all conservatives start giving me the thumbs down, note that I would support any conservative politician who still espoused traditional conservative values, and I believe that there are more of those than there are neocons in the general public, but sadly not in the government.

Nope, we weren’t safe before or after 9/11. I don’t trust our govt. worth a damn. That’s why I fully support my 2nd Amendment rights and have guns now. An amendment that shall never be infringed. If they do decide that we need to give up our guns, they can take them from my cold, dead hands. Oh, by the way 9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB!!!! Stop believing that these “terrorists” hate our freedoms, when our own govt. is now restricting freedom of speech, violations of our 4th & 5th amendment and now the dissolving of Possi Comontatus
