Are the liberals fighting nature when they want to form a classless society?
I am sorry but this idea will never work. Throughout history there have always been poor and wealthy, royalty and peasants, servants and ruling class. There always will be as long as there are those content to stay poor when someone is taking care of them, or those who work hard, has ambition to improve their situation.
Even nature has a system of hierarchy. Bee hives-there is a queen, drones and worker bees. Ant hills-same thing. Lion prides and wolf packs-there is a alpha male.
It would be nice if we could but in reality it is impossible and those who campaign on this know it and use it as a form of control.
Are you content to be a peasant, a slave or a serf?
Actually we may be headed toward a form of serfdom. Where we are not actually slaves but we give up certain rights and freedoms to the “lord” (ie federal government) for protection, shetler, food and healthcare. Like the serfs in times past we pay taxes, our children are even indebted.
Sub… I never said there wasn’t class division. There will always be a division. It is just a matter of who exploits them say like promising free stuff like housing and healthcare in trade for votes to keep them in power.
The true advocate of the poor is the person who wants them to do well and not keep them in the situation where they are given just enough to survive comfortable and therefore have no desire to do better.
Did any of you actually read my question in its entirety by the answers I am guessing not?

funny thing about this question.. is that 99% of the time the right says there is no class division ?
So which is it ? Liberals defying nature by trying to correct classism.. or that classism is a manufactured concept By Liberals ?

edit: And what I’m saying is that usually people where you are shooting from deny any form of classism existing.. thus my quandary about your float here.. that it’s wrong for a society to try and create equality for all of it’s citizens…

edit: and true advocates of the poor do not eviscerate a Job market in search of ever cheaper labor costs so as to improve profit margins for “Rich” Stock and share holders..

…And a Democracy that seeks equality for all of its citizens, not some more equal than others, fights against nature also.

I think you completely forgot about countries like Norway and Sweden, who have the highest standards of living in the world per capita. Democratic socialism has flourished there with low poverty rates, low unemployment rates, and steady economic growth. Try to look at your argument from multiple angles and not just make an argument with your own subjectivity.

What we are doing is not an effort to build a classless society, but an effort to give everyone an equal chance to be rich or poor.
The serfdom you say you fear will surely be if the divide between the haves and have nots in this country is allowed to grow. Serfdom is what happen when there is a great divide between the classes, not when there is little or not divide.

Liberals want a strong middle class. History has proven that this country thrives when the middle class is doing well.
Conservatives are anti-middle class, and prefer to give all the money to the rich and cripple everyone else.
So its really no surprise that the economy is in the tank after 8 years of Conservative rule, and will not be a surprise when it is thriving again in 8 years when Obama leaves office.

No one ever said that. They said the rich must pay more taxes. You cannot have two wars, and cut taxes at the same time. It doesn’t work.
The reason why the rich must pay more taxes is because no one else can afford to, they’re too busy trying to feed their families. Oddly enough, most of the very rich are liberals, so they don’t have a problem with it.

I am sure you will get many responses to your comments.
I am a member of the lower middle class who makes enough money to own a home but does not have enough to have adequate retirement or life savings. I am somewhere in the middle.
I think the real issue is instead of a classless society- the concept of social mobility needs to continue to exists because it gives incentive to build a better life. My parents grew up in poverty and although they struggle now- there was a period of time when they did very well. The moved from the poor to upper middle class through education, achievement, and hard work. I cite them for example to show how they have done, and the concept of mobility needs to remain a tenant in our society.
