APARTMENT ISSUES 10PTS?
for the past 6months, me and my bf have been living in a BADLY roach infestated apartment. since july 17(when we moved in), there was roaches, the next day i woke up early to go speak with our landlord and even her supervisior. we asked her to please switch us apartments and she said by next week we will be able to but in the meantime, they will bring pest control into spray every mon for US. when monday came, no one showed up to spray. long story short the infestation has gotten worse. they are in the bathrrom, our bedroom, guest bedroom, walls, my shoes in the closet, corners etc. i have even seen some in the fridge and in our cabinet of food. iam aware the spray does nothing to the roaches, they only adapt to it so that they may live which is what me and another tenant below us said.
me and the landlord got into a heat argument after i cussed her out for accussing me and my bf for bringing the roaches to the apartment. my parents house does not have roaches and neither does his parents which is what i told her. for months now we have been waiting on pest control, spending money like crazy to buy bug spray etc.i write down the dates etc of what happens in our apartment. oct. 26, we found a mouse in our apartment and immediately called the front office to speak to our landlord who was on lunch so the guy told ME to try and get it out and i told him no it is not my job. he then said he would send maintenance up who never showed up. the maintenance however has fixed a couple of things in the apartment but because we are one of the few people in the apartment who actually speak english, they dont show up. one time when they did, it took me 30 mins to explain what i needed to be done because none of the maintenance men speak english just spanish. we have been fined for our neighbors trash on our side, mats, my bf car has been broken into twice and the landlord claims the police and them know who it is but has yet to say anything. i know who it is also, the man is outside round 1 till 4 and is gone by morning he does not even live in the complex.
after dealing with all this, i think it is only fair we get 1month free rent and our apartment switched immediately.

You have put up with this looser for six months, why?
If you stay till the end of your lease, they will invent a reason to keep the deposit.
You deserve better. Call you cities health department. Have the place inspected to document what is going on.
Hire a qualified pest exterminator to document what is going on.
Then move. Get a better life. With your pest inspection report, they can not go after you for breaking the lease. Get a better life.

Cleaning up even badly infested places takes about $10 with Raid Roach Bait (it’s little plastic houses and works overnight and gets 99% of the roaches). if you feel you need another application then invest another $10. You can buy the stuff at your supermarket. Then all you’d have to do is catch them up in your vacuum and wash the place down with disinfectant.
What brings in roaches is new renters who have brought in their stuff from warehouses or public storage. Also you can bring them in in grocery bags (that’s why I prefer plastic). They multiply fairly quickly and you’d for sure have a lot more if you let it go like you did. You can also bring them in in the cuffs of your slacks (my slacks no longer have cuffs). And you can bring them in if you have to walk thru grass and woodsy areas to get to the house.
since you have a lease you’d need to live it out for that year or you’d be hit with having to pay the balance while not living there and if it goes to collections you’d have trouble getting a lease elsewhere, and to add to that you’d have bad credit and a judgment against you on which interest will build till it’s too hard to repay.
Get some good insurance for your vehicle, apartment and yourselves. And in the meantime get some roach bait and solve the bug problem. Buy a second pack so you can have those little black hotels around behind your closet, under the frig, in the water heater closet, etc. for three months to keep them from coming back. Do “not” leave food out. Keep it all in the frig and covered tightly. Take your garbage out before dusk.
