But, you should use some type of flea and tick repellent on him. I like the "Advantage" type that you apply once per month. But there are others, including a flea and tick collar. You'll still have to look him over for ticks after a romp in the field, but this stuff makes it a whole lot better. There is no way to make it perfectly safe.
