Sounds scary, though! Do they tell you who it is, and does that person really exist? If it were me, I'd do some investigating on the situation, knowing that it could be fake- but also may be true. Don't give anyone your bank account, number, or anything. If they wanted info, I'd tell them to mail me something via snail mail and maybe review it with a lawyer. Most lawyers will visit with you free to let you know if it is something legal. I just automatically delete thim without looking. Lots of those emails have viruses attached to them and will harm your computer, others are just foreigners scamming everyone. I even get scam mail from people claiming to be from my bank account and needing me to update my account, but then on my bank account site where my actual mail from the bank comes doesnt have those emails to me.
