Can anyone recommend a NICE SMELLING mosquito repellent to wear? Must be effective?

I’m going to be living in Lilongwe, Malawi during the wet season and need an effective repellant. I’d like something that smells nice so I don’t resent doing it every day!!

(I don’t normally put anything on her, just try to protect her in other ways. However, there have been recent confirmed cases of west nile virus in my county and we spend a lot of time outside. She’s almost 11 months old.)

In a pinch what makes for a good mosquito repellent?

So I forgot to put on mosquito repellent and I got severely bitten. Are there any plants or certain medicines that will relieve the itching
