What to do if landlord breached warranty of habituality?
Two months after moving into a unit, I’ve had to deal with an infestation of drain flies, worms, snails, slugs, and various insects in my bathroom. I can’t shower without sandles on for fear of stepping onto something. The bathroom is completely unsanitary. Mold has been growing in our medicine cabinet from the leaking pipes from upstairs that have wet our walls. When it rains, worms crawl from underneath our tub. We had a plumber come in to check out the problem. He recommended pulling out the tub and floor tiles. He also stated that our bathroom should have been condemned. My landlord didn’t want to pay for the repairs. Now my landlord wants to end our lease without giving us some kind of reimburstment. I’m thinking about taking legal action but I don’t know where to start. What should I do?

Call an attorney. Some will usually give you a free initial consultation. Good luck!

Sue him in small claims court where you don’t need an attorney. The Clerk of the Court will give you the proper forms.
Report him to the Zoning Board.
Report him to the Health Department.
Report him to the agency in your state that handles Landlord and Tenant laws and disputes.
