I Need Some Pest Control Advise!! Roaches!!?
Okay. I am living with my boyfriend and his father…They have had roaches for quite a while and the landlord wont do anything about it. We just had a baby (2 months old now) and I dont want them to be around…When we first moved in they were really bad..then we were only seeing them in the kitchen and the bathroom. Right after my baby was born i spilled some powder formula on the floor by accident and i look down 2 seconds later and there are 2 big ones…I dont want them things around my daughter…Unfortunately we dont have the money to move… She sleeps in a bassinet and i bought a net to go around it so nothing to get near her…I know pretty rediculous. An exterminator came last week and put some powder stuff around and some gel in the kitchen and bathroom. I have only seen about 1 or 2 in the bathroom and kitchen so far but i see about 1 or 2 each day in our room.. and the exterminator moved back to florida he was just visiting so is there anything i can put in our room that we will never see them again…(already bombed before and didnt last). Not sure if it takes longer for the exterminator stuff to work..
Sorry so long haha!!
Thank you!
we dont have the money for another exterminator…and i dont know where they are nesting. we dont have any dressers in our bedroom and i dont really wanna look haha.
and we are living in an apartment but the exterminator put stuff in the downstairs apt and the basement

If you’re in an apartment or duplex, your efforts may be in vain. Neighbors may be feeding the source. You should call a professional to assist. Be very careful using chemicals around your child.

unfortunatly once you have roaches they are very hard to get rid of because they multiply so fast. My parents have in the past a real bad problem with them its gotten better but not 100%some show up here and there. if you cant afford an exterminator your best option are this. Open all draws doors ect to find thier nesting areas even refridgerators and stoves are common, Vaccume all of them up even the eggs. Now look around town Raid makes a roach gel they seem to like this best and does pretty well. You have to constantly continue to look where they are nesting and hiding at which i remember helping my mom move things around was a pain. This is best around people with small children and someone with breathing problems that you can buy off the counter that i have found but you have to do it often to eventually get rid of them

The gel the exterminator put out will take a few days to kill a lot of roaches. The gel might last from 1 month to 2. After the gel looses it’s color, it needs to be replaced. Combat gel is very good to use. And it would replace the gel that was used. In apartments roaches can come from the other apartments. If everyone in the apartments would replace their gels, that would be great. The roaches get the gel on them and eat it and go to their nest to die. The other roaches eat the dead roach and they die. There can be 40 dead roaches via 1 dead roach. The babies, it is gross and I will not go into it, will die too. Their habits are gross. Mint tea bags in the drawers can repel roaches.
I brought a syringe of combat gel for someone that has roaches in a little trailer. It cost almost $8.00. It has a picture on it that shows where roaches hang out. They hide in dark places like behind the sink, hang under the cabinets and on the inside of the cabinets. And in the walls. Under the stoves too.
