also ; does anyone believe comp usa is a pain in the ass ripoff? can you explain the mac problem in english laymans terms?

Hardware and software for the mac is harder to find at economic prices. It is a “niche” product, and therefore there is less of an incentive for people to develop for it.

What “Mac problem”? The guy at CompUSA does not know what he’s talking about. Macs are great computers and can do just about anything you’d want them to do. Mac OS X is a far more secure and stable OS than Windows, thanks to its Unix foundations, and there are no Mac viruses to speak of. There’s lots of excellent Mac software out there — much of it free. For most people, there’s no reason to get a Windows computer.

The CompUSA guy is a moron. There is no “Mac problem”, only uninformed people who think that there is. With an Intel based Macintosh you can run OS X, the worlds best OS, Linux, and you can even run Windows…even at the same time (using Parallels). You can even run command line BSD because OS X is based on BSD.
Don’t listen to some 18 year old kid at overpriced CompUSA.
