Home depot ripoff . . .?
I bought a home depot gift card in the amount of 50.00 as a Christmas gift to my boyfriend. He lost the card. When I went to have the card replaced, cause it states on the card, they will be replaced with required proof of purchase, Home Depot said they would not replace it cause I paid cash. If I had written a check for it or charged on a credit card, they would replace it. No matter how I paid for it, they can trace the card to see if it’s been used, void it and reissue. I have my receipt. Fought over two months about it, filed with State Attorney General, Better Business Bueare (sp) and Federal Trade Commission. No one would help. Anyone else have this problem with home depot? Anyone have any suggestions? They ripped me off.

That’s strange, it should be no problem unless the card has been used…once it’s been used it can no longer be ‘turned off’ so that it could be replace. Your best bet is to call 1-800-553-3199, it’s the customer care line, they’re usually pretty reasonable people and should be able to get it fixed for you.
