I purchase most of my veggies (in season) from a local organic farm. Yes, they are a bit more expensive. However, in return I get a selection of heirloom and unusual varieties of veggies that have much more flavor than the hothouse grown mass produced varieties in your local mega mart. Additionally I can be sure that I am not ingesting trace amounts of poison used to kill critters.
