please Yahoo can we have these two concepts as additional sub categories under Environment
No 1 = a subcategory for ECOLOGY,many people would like to see that as they feel it is a seperate concept,
No 2 = PERMACULTURE & SUSTAINABILITY.
Permaculture means permanent agriculture ,
a concept formulated in the 60ties by Bill Mollison ,
And it entails alternative strategies for a Nation,
Soil conservation,
Waterharvesting,Aquaculture,
Dryland strategies,Precipitacion,
Mulching & Composting,Organic pest control,
Environmental design in Architecture as well as Earthworks,
Alternative energies(i.e bio-degraders),
Bio-diversity & companion planting (guilds),
agro-forestal and much more it cover all climatic conditions .

relevent information could be shared here in Answers

Permaculture is wellknown and has a large following ,in Australia,Vietnam,Africa,Europe,USA,and some in Mexico that i know of
if we had this as a subcategory much interesting information could appear here
Oops maybe the USA is not a good place to discuss Environment as many people have told me ,
that was a bad start with Punk
And Punk its important because our very existance and survival as well as the quality of our lives, depend on the Environment i.e.Climate,Water,Food for starters

please guys understand that the first place i go is yahoo forum, this suggestion went in over a week ago ,with a follow up today,as well as Jane ,
the question is here just to gage the publics feelings ,so dont keep telling me the obvious
so just tell me this

I think “Environment” should stay a subcategory under “Science.” Why is it so much more important that it gets its own category?

If you think there will be enough questions in these sub-sections, then YES – I would support your request.
In fact, submit your request to the Yahoo!Answers suggestion Board/Forum. Follow the link “Forum” at the upper-right top of this page. Then users can vote if they approve.

If you would like to suggest all this to the Yahoo! Answers, then please go here–>http://suggestions.yahoo.com/add/?prop=answers! I do agree with you a lot. I think Yahoo! Answers should add all the things we suggest, then Yahoo! Answers would be suitable for us all! A subcategory of Ecology would be good, too. And, yes, many people, like you and I, would like to see that as they feel it is a seperate concept. Permaculture and Sustainability would, also, be good, too. The Environment is very important, and MANY MANY MANY people care about it, so they ask questions. More subcatigories in the Environment section would be awesome because we all know how important the Environment is, so we should have as many subcatigories for the Environment as possible! Keep the Earth Clean!

Yes, I agree that these new sub-categories would be very good.
I think it is ironic, however, that our categorization previously was “Science & Math / Environment & Ecology “. Now “ecology” would be taken out of “science” to become a sub-area of the (sometimes very UN-scientific) area “environment” . Don’t get me wrong. This new categorization is easier and more popular, and I would rather see ecology represented *somewhere*. But ecology is now getting further removed from SCIENCE and (as before) is getting lumped with a whole lot of political and popular discussion, some of it a long way from real science.
All this aside, it is good to see Y!A becoming a force for better understanding of some important issues of our time.
