My brother was supposed to be home from Iraq 4 days ago, how can I find him?

Pest control
He was over there, doing pest control, but had to come back to Texas, to renew his license. We last heard from him on 09-05-07, by e-mail. He was supposed to arrive in Austin on the 12th. When he didn’t show, I called his work number in Iraq, and the man that answered sounded Iraqi, but didn’t know anything about my brother. How can I find out where he is, or what happened to him? We are very worried.

I take it your brother was over there doing private contracting work not with the military? That could make it a little more difficult. Try to get in touch with his company. In the future maybe purchase one of those satellite phones for when he goes back .

Uh oh, sounds like Iraqi insurgents took over his office and captured him. If you don’t see him in a few months maybe you could write a letter to the president or to the news networks.

If he were in the military, there are special locator services, but being a civilian, I guess you would have to contact the company / contractor he worked for.

Call your Congressman’s office and ask them to help you. This is the first place to start. They can give you help if you need to take it a step or two further.

Do you have information on his flight(s) he was to be on? Don’t worry too much right now, he could have been delayed for any number of reasons. When my (ex)husband was deployed over there it was always a mess when he came back. One time he was weeks late. But again, that was in the military…civilian is definately different circumstances.
When in doubt always go with the Red Cross…they can help find anyone.
