Has anyone had any problem with red bark or mulch around their above ground pool with insects and termites?

Pest control
We had to call in a diver because we were losing water a little at a time. He thinks there are many insects and termites in the bark. We called pest control and they told us to take down the liner and spray underneath to prevent tiny holes in our pool liner. Has this happened to any pool owners and what did you do to help the situation..

I don’t have a pool, but I do have the red bark and have noticed that a white mold grew just underneath the surface. You may want to check this out as it might be your problem. If the chips are under the pool area the pressure from the water could be making them act as little daggers. You could put sand down as a base.
