Okay, it may sound sick but your childs own saliva has a natural enzyme that will aid in decreasing the inflammation and itch. They just have to make sure that they don’t touch it before it dries. Also try using your fingernail and making an “X” through the center of the bite and it seems to take out a lot of the itch also.
Avon’s skin so soft it don’t help a lot with the itch(it dose somewhat)but the bugs wont go near it and it is completely safe once youve put it on any way i would not try drinking it but if its on there hands and they put there hand in there mouth it wont hurt them

Make a paste of baking soda and water and apply it to the bites.You can use as often as necessary for itching and inflammation.

The only think I can recomend is Calamine lotion (Caladrill). It is in a pinkish bottle and it works great.

I agree with baking soda. You can even put it in their bath.
Try a herbal tea with honey in it – a calming one – that always helps.

you can also put clear finger nail polish on the bites…this will help to heal it…

Sounds crazy but a little bit of toothpaste works great
Watching inmates use their toothpaste for all kinds of remedies (my husbands a guard)
